No-Obligation Inquiry – The First Step in the Sales Process

By contacting Prins van Oranje Yacht Brokerage, you take the first step towards selling your yacht. Our yacht brokers are happy to inform you about all available options.

During an initial consultation by phone or email, we discuss the sales potential of your yacht. The asking price is determined during this conversation. This depends on several factors, such as age, condition, equipment, and current market developments.

Based on photos and specifications, we can usually provide an accurate indication of the selling price. Our standard commission is 6% excluding VAT of the final selling price. Before proceeding, you will always receive a clear estimate of your expected net proceeds.

Once an agreement has been reached, you can bring your yacht to our location in Heeg (Friesland), have it collected by Prins van Oranje, or sell it while it remains at its current berth.

 

Inventory & Presentation of Your Yacht

Once we have agreed to sell your yacht, all details and specifications are carefully recorded. During the sales period, we ensure your yacht remains clean, well-presented, and ready for viewings.

This includes neatly arranging covers, straightening cushions, and adding tasteful styling such as glasses, magazines, or towels. We also provide professional photography and an interior video of your yacht.

All information is processed in our system and used for the marketing of your yacht.

We apply an active international sales strategy. Your yacht is presented on our own website and on more than 42 national and international yacht sales platforms. In addition, we advertise in watersports magazines, attend boat shows, send newsletters, run social media campaigns, and actively approach potential buyers through our international network.

 

Achieving the Best Price for Your Yacht

When an interested buyer submits an offer, we handle negotiations in consultation with you. Our goal is always to achieve the best possible price for your yacht, while carefully managing agreed pricing and negotiation margins.

All agreements are recorded in a purchase contract, ensuring clarity for all parties involved.

Each agreement is subject to a successful sea trial, during which one of our yacht brokers will always be present.

 

Completing the Sale of Your Yacht

If the buyer chooses to have the yacht surveyed, which we generally recommend, they may appoint a certified survey company of their choice. Prins van Oranje supports both the buyer and surveyor during the inspection and sea trial.

We also arrange all practical matters, such as crane services, filling water tanks, and preparing the underwater hull if necessary.

Depending on the results of the survey, additional agreements may be made regarding any defects. Our in-house yacht service department can carry out any required repairs. All agreements are documented in the deed of transfer, ensuring the seller is protected against any future claims.

After completion of all conditions, a delivery date is agreed with the buyer. Prins van Oranje ensures the yacht is delivered clean, fully prepared, and ready to sail. We also provide a clear explanation of the yacht’s systems for a safe first voyage.
